Research and Planning Activities

Look back at your A2 Blog and all of the posts your have labelled as research and planning. Look at the c/w scedule - did you complete all of the research and planning tasks specfied.

With the help of the coursework schedule we were able to organize ourselves to make sure that all of the tasks were completed too a deadline. This meant that we included all of the reasearch and planning tasks which helped us with our final video

Make a list of the primary research that you carried out for your Final Video and Ancillary Tasks
Primary
  • Opinion Polls
For our song selection we placed an Opinion Poll on our blog, in which visistors on our blog could vote for, what was- in their opinion, the best song for our video.

  • Textual Analysis of similar genres through internet/tv/magazines
We used the internet prominantely throughout our research and planning sections, in order to seek idea's and to anaylse what other people have done in genres similar to our own. Youtube was a vital part of our primary research as it enabled us to search for ideas; it also allowed us to listen to possible song choices

Magazines were a usefull form of primary research when it came to designing our ancillary texts. I sought inspiration from magazines, mainly for my magazine advert. Similar genres to my own can be found in magazines, so finding ideas and possible designs was fairly easy.

  • Peer/Staff feedback
Both peer and staff feedback was vital during our research and planning stages, once we had comleted a draft version of our video, we relyed on feedback from both peers and staff in order to make a final video the best it could be.

These are some of the examples, of the feedback we recieved form our peers once our final video was exhibited.
